EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN: In Person Standard Course 8 Week

Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT) course is for those individuals who desire more training than basic first aid. This is the first step in a medical career. Many health care professionals have started as EMTs (doctors, nurses, paramedics, etc.).
 
The Standard Course meets 5:00pm - 10:00pm Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm.
 
This course is delivered in the traditional learning style. Three days a week over this course of eight weeks.
 
RECERTIFICATION COURSES: The Recert. course is 24 hours and includes skills completion/sign off.
 
The Recert Course meets Friday-Sunday from 9am -6pm.

This course is taught in line with Title 22 of the Health and Safety Code. The course is 140 hours of instruction.

Didactic portion of the class includes lecture on all aspects of basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and treatment guidelines.

Skills portion of the class is designed to provide the student with actual experience of dealing with patients. This is a hands on approach to the skills you will use in the field. The participant must pass the skills examination prior to taking the certifying exam.

Field observation is a part of the course in which the participant rides with an Ambulance. This provides additional insight to job activities.

Prerequisites prior to enrolling:

You must possess an American Heart Association BLS HEALTHCARE PROVIDED CPR certification. The participants CARD MUST BE VALID FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR PAST THE TIME OF ENROLLMENT.

The prerequisites are listed above and you must be 18 years of age or older and not precluded from certification for reasons defined in Section 1798.200 of the California Health and Safety Code.

Additionally, if ineligibility is determined, LINK 2 LIFE Emergency Training, Inc. will not provide any refund of fees paid for the EMT course.
